Chosen Pictures for Print Products

Magazine Advert

 

We decided to use this picture as it closely links to my case

study of Plan B where the artist in that advert is looking away

from the camera. We followed that advert by making sure that

our artist did not make direct eye contact towards the camera

rather is looking away diagonally this entinces the audience as

they want to know what is happening. The picture really reflects the

artists in deeper emotions that he has been hurt in the past.  Also we used

lightening effectively as one side of his face is lightened up and this is to

reflect the phrase ' Looking at the brighter side of life ' and this is to show

that the artist is looking towards the future and trying to move away from

his past. We manipulated the lightening to make sure that the other side of

his face is in the shadow and this reflect that his past has been dark and hurtful.

 

Front Cover

We chose this picture for the front cover as the artist is relaxed
and cool and you can really see the emotion on his face. Also the
background of which is a brick wall closely links to our music video
in which the artist is seen in one scene leaning back on towards a brick
wall for support. A brick wall is strong and the cement in between the
bricks hold it together and essentially this what the artist needs in the video
to be strong and hold himself together. However, in this picture he just
casually leaning against the wall showing that he does not need the support
anymore and that he has moved on.

Formation of CD package

So we've pitched our ideas to the rest of the class all most all of the feedback was positive and the class seemed to like the ideas we had planned for the CD package. Now it is time to carry out the production of the album package we have decided as a group to take on one task each with all of us contributing ideas towards the print products and being involved in all of the development of the print products.  I will be doing the magazine advertisement while Yasmeen will do the inserts of the album package and Stephanie creating the front and back cover. We will be using the Adobe Photoshop software to create the print products.

Pitch to class

This is the recording of the pitching of our mock up idea's to the class. We took on board the responses most which were positive and the general feedback tended to be that the focus group like the idea's that we had.

Photo shoot tomorrow

We got the photo shoot tomorrow to take pictures for the album and the magazine advert and I am really excited for it. I  haven't been to the studio this year yet so it will be good to get back in there and take some professional pictures. We are going to use a white backdrop for the photo shoot in the studio and we will also take some photo's on outdoor locations against the backdrop of brick walls and tree's. It should be a very productive day and everything should go according to plan.

Call Sheet

In order to prepare for our photoshoot and have a successful shoot without any complications we created a call sheet as form as time management method and also for our client and the crew to know how the photoshoot would run.

Concept:
We need our main artist (Tyler Dew) for the photo shoot. We use a  combination of photos taken in a studio and on outside location location.  We plan to use outside location photo's on the album front cover and back. Because the genre of the song is about a break-up, the actor needed to protay and intense/sad facial expression. We created a shallow depth of field image, having Tyler in focus and the background blurred.

 

Timeline:

10:00: Meet the group members, and prepare and set up for the photo shoot in the studio. Backdrop will be a white.

10:15: Meet Tyler

10.20: Take outside photos on location first, take images against the backdrop of variety of walls, and trees which corresponds to our music video.

11:10: Move to take images in the studio.

12:50: Finished for lunch.

Time for the Print Products

So we've succesfully completed the music video and one part of the process is done but it now time to move onto creating the print products. We need to create the whole album package including front and back cover as well as two inserts for the album in addition a magazine advertisement of the album to go along with it. It should be interesting and challenging but I am well up for the challenge and can't wait to get started!.
